User Consent (Opt-in) is Mandatory You cannot message random people Users must give permission (opt-in) before receiving messages ✔ Valid opt-in examples: User filled a form on your website User messaged you first User checked a consent box ❌ Not allowed: Buying contact lists Sending messages to unknown numbers 🔹 3. Template Message Approval You must use pre-approved message templates for: Marketing Notifications Templates must be approved by Meta ✔ Allowed examples: Order confirmations Delivery updates Appointment reminders Promotional offers (after approval) 🔹 4. No Spam or Abuse Strictly prohibited: Sending unwanted messages repeatedly Fake offers or scams Misleading or false information Adult or illegal content 👉 Violation can lead to permanent ban 🔹 5. Messaging Limits (Tier System) WhatsApp API has daily messaging limits: Unverified business: ~250 users/day Verified business: 1K → 10K → 100K → Unlimited (gradually increases) 🔹 6. 24-Hour Messaging Rule If a user messages you, you can reply freely within 24 hours After 24 hours: Only approved templates can be sent 🔹 7. Business Verification You must verify your business in Meta Business Manager Required: Business details Official documents 👉 Benefits: Higher trust Increased messaging limits 🔹 8. Payment Policy WhatsApp API is not fully free You are charged based on: Conversation type (Marketing, Utility, Service) 👉 You must add a payment method (card) 🔹 9.
